Fritter & Clam Cake Mix®

Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix allows you to make an endless variety of fritters. Blended from all natural ingredients, we use no additives or preservatives in our mix. Your imagination is your only limitation. Ready to use out of the package, just add water and your favorite fritter ingredients.

 In Southern New England, we make our famous clam cakes. Use fresh or canned fruits to make fruit fritters. Make plain fritters and coat, or serve with condiment dipping sauces such as honey, maple syrup, oriental duck sauce, or chutneys. Fritter & Clam Cake Product Usage Guide


Clam Cakes
1 pound Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix.
Add 1 cup minced clams and juice (8 oz.). 1/2 cups cold tap water. Mix until smooth.
Use either canned or frozen clams. Frozen clams must be completely thawed.
Let stand for 5-10 minutes.
Use a No. 40 or 60 ice cream scoop to drop mixture
in deep fryer. If using a No. 40 scoop, do not over fill the scoop. The mix should fill the scoop level.
Be gentle with the mix. Work off the edge of the bowl. Try not to over work and disturb the mix too much. This will help keep the mix light and fluffy.
Drop clam/fritter mix in deep fryer at 350 degrees, turning gently for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
Drain on absorbent paper, serve while hot.
Try to use the mix within 3-4 hours for best results.
1 pound Drum Rock Clam & Fritter Mix will make 3-4 dozen clam cakes.

 

Other Suggestions:

Corn Fritters: Add 1 can (6-8oz.) nibblet corn to 1 pound Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix. Adjust liquid accordingly. Add seasoning and spices if desired.
Apple Fritters: Add diced canned or fresh apples to Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix. Adjust liquid accordingly. Add sugar and or cinnamon if desired.
Banana Fritters: Add diced fresh or dried bananas to Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix. Adjust liquid accordingly. Add sugar if desired.
Fruit Preserve Fritters: Add your favorite fruit preserve (raspberry, blueberry, strawberry etc.) to Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix.
Maple Syrup or Honey Fritters: Use DrumRock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix as is out of the package, add water. Dip fried fritters in maple syrup or honey, or drizzle on top.
Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Fritters: Add brown sugar and cinnamon to Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix.
Plain Fritters: Make plain fritters with Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix. Dust fried fritters with powdered sugar.
Vegetable Fritters: Finely dice vegetables such as peppers, carrots, onions, mushrooms, add to Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix. Serve with your favorite condiment as a dipping sauce.
Smoke Salmon Fritters: Add smoke salmon bits to Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix.
Corn & Crab Fritters: Add nibblet corn and crab meat to Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix. Add spices for a signature blend.
Shrimp Caribbean Fritter: Add very small cooked shrimp and spices to Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix. Creole or Bay Seasoning spice works well.
Italian Vegetable Fritter: Add diced red, and or green bell peppers, onions, and or mushrooms with garlic, basil and oregano spices to Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake. Serve with tomato marinara dipping sauce.
Indian Curry Fritters: Add diced daikon radish, onion, and or mushrooms, cumin, coriander, and cayenne to Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix. Or use a prepared curry spice mix .
Lobster Fritters: Add lobster bits or surimi (imitation crab meat) to Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix. Add coconut liqueur and or Pina Colada mix do the mixture. You can also add shredder
coconut.
Spicy Fritters: Add any of the following spices to Drum Rock Fritter & Clam Cake Mix: Bay Seasoning, Curry Seasoning, Cajun Seasoning, Italian Spices with Garlic Powder, Creole Seasoning, Lemon Pepper (salt free).

Dipping Suggestions:
Mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, hot sauce, oriental duck sauce, sweet and sour sauce, tobasco sauce, chutneys.
